LASALLE FILM POSTER ART CONTEST
CALLING ALL VIETNAMESE STUDENTS RESIDING IN HCMC!!!
Are you a film buff or an aspiring graphic artist?
Ever noticed how film posters can grab your attention and make you want to see the movie? Like the eye-catching posters for Avatar, Harry Potter or Resident Evil?
…
Now’s your chance to create your own film poster art and win a Study Trip to LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore, where you can experience a day in the life of an art student!
All you need to do is watch any of the LASALLE films at the upcoming The LASALLE Show ’10 in HCMC, design a poster for it, and get your friends to vote on this Facebook page!
PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS:
1st Prize – S$250 (cash) + Jury Prize (Study Trip to Singapore)
2nd Prize – S$200 (cash)
3rd Prize – S$100 (cash)
4th Prize – S$50 (cash)
5th prize – S$50 (cash)
JURY PRIZE
Study Trip to Singapore at LASALLE’s Open House on 14 – 15 Jan 2011 (dates subject to slight changes), including:
- Return-trip air ticket SGN/SIN/SGN
- 4 nights accommodation (single room)
- A planned art/study itinerary by LASALLE which the winner MUST observe
Here’s the deal:
1. The competition is open to all Vietnamese (non-LASALLE) students residing in Ho Chi Minh City (aged 16 – 20 years old).
2. Register for the competition at The LASALLE Show ’10 and watch any of the LASALLE films there – http://www.facebook.com/lasalle.sg?v=app_2344061033#!/event.php?eid=163822263647111&index=1
3. Choose one film and create a poster based on your understanding of the story. Still images from all our films being screened can be found at – http://www.flickr.com/photos/thelasalleshow/sets/72157625063303457/
4. Submit your poster to lasalleshowhcmc@lasalle.edu.sg on or before 31 Oct (2359hrs). SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 14 NOV (2359HRS).
5. Tell your friends (and their friends) to vote by clicking “Like” on their favourite posters. Anyone in Vietnam or around the world can vote! Voting starts on 15 Nov 2010 (0001hrs) and ends on 21 Nov 2010 (2359hrs).
6. Posters with the most number of “Likes” stand the chance to win a People’s Choice award, from which ONE Jury Prize winner will be selected.
7. Jury Prize criteria: a) ability to convey the essence of the movie, b) creativity in illustration/imagery, c) ability to emote the desired mood of the film.
8. Bonus: The Application Fee of S$120 for LASALLE’s Diploma or Degree programmes will be waived for all competition participants should they decide to apply for LASALLE’s August 2011 Intake. Applications should all be made through Vietnam Centrepoint.

The LASALLE Show ’10 in HCMC is an exhibition of film, animation, design and fine arts by Vietnamese, Singaporean and other international alumni from LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore – including award-winning Vietnamese designers Lam Dieu Khanh and Nguyen Huu Huan, and Singaporean filmmaker Boo Junfeng.
